Patrick Blenkarn

Patrick Blenkarn is an artist working in a variety of mediums. His works are predominately, but not necessarily, performance-based—and they frequently emerge from his thinking (and writing) about theatre, philosophy, and cinema. He is interested in subjects as diverse as repetition, pedagogy, labour, digital performance, and multilingualism. He has been a part of emerging artist programs through the SummerWorks Performance Festival, the Magnetic North Theatre Festival, and the Telluride Film Festival. His theories on political theatre have been published in Theatre Research in Canada and Performance Matters and he has also presented other writings at international conferences.

Patrick has a degree from the University of King’s College in Halifax, Nova Scotia and is currently completing his Masters of Fine Art in Interdisciplinary Studies at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia.
